Our latest news is that: His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, says he is "very excited about the launch of the Dubai Metro on 09.09.09."
On September 9, the Red Line of the Metro was unveiled, with driverless trains shuttling thousands daily between 10 stations. Commuters hope this will ease the traffic congestion and provide a seamless connection with the various parts of the emirate.
The Dubai Metro is a driverless, fully automated metro network which is under construction in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai. The Red and Green Lines are under construction, and further lines are planned. These first two lines will run underground in the city centre and on elevated viaducts elsewhere. The Dubai Metro will be the second longest fully automated rail system in the world when it partially opens on 9 September 2009. Once the 20km Green line opens in June 2010, the Dubai Metro will overtake the title of longest automated metro network from the Vancouver Sky train, surpassing it by 3km.
The trains and stations will be air conditioned with platform edge doors to make this possible.

As the seat of the Olympic Committee, Lausanne is home to this high-tech museum celebrating sporting achievements through the ages. A multimedia affair with a wealth of rare and fascinating items on show (Carl Lewis' shoe from the 1984 Olympics, for instance), the museum also boasts a massive collection of historical footage.

A new era is about to begin for Cyprus Airport: The new Larnaca International Airport Terminal, including new equipment & systems, was completed on schedule & has been officially delivered.
The inauguration of the New Larnaca International Airport will take place on Saturday, 07/11/2009 & the official opening for operations will be towards the end of that month.
During this interval & until the official opening, staff will undergo continuous & extensive training in order to familiarize themselves with the new terminal, high-tech equipment & the operation systems.
The new terminal covers an area of 100.000m2 & will be able to handle an annual 7.5 million passengers. Amongst other things, it will feature 67 check-in counters, 15 airline ticket sales counters, 16 aircraft walkways, 11 arrival/departure bus drop off points, 7 security points, 5 baggage conveyor belts, 2200 parking spaces, Easy access to the highway, VIP lounge, Business lounge, Restaurants, cafes and duty free shops, car rental services, surveillance systems.

The Alsace Region lies on the border between France and Germany. It passed back and forth from German to French rule over the centuries, enduring much warfare as a result. All the people living there today speak French, but the Alsatian language, which is a German dialect, is still spoken by elderly people and in the villages. The Jews also have a long history in Alsace, which is now host to one of the largest communities in Europe. These three cultures have fused on the region's fertile soil, creating a unique local way of life rich in both land and traditions. The architecture is magnificent in the countryside and in the cities where Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance buildings can be found. The landscape is picturesque with beautiful plains, the lofty Vosges Mountains, and the River Rhine winding its way through the Alsatian territory. The towns are beautiful with timbered walls or pink sandstone, storks nesting on the chimneys, and streets lined with cobblestone. The agriculture is thriving with abundant vineyards, hops plants for the beer production, orchards and farmland. The cuisine is a delicious blend of German, French and Jewish tastes and techniques.
